Sustainable supply chain management (SSCM) emerges as a fundamental strategy for integrating environmental, economic, and social practices within the contemporary organizational environment (Farahani, Asgari & Davarzani, 2009). This article explores the main definitions, activities, advantages, barriers, and trends related to SSCM, providing a detailed analysis for students and researchers to understand its relevance to academic and practical progress in management. The contributions of international literature are discussed, with emphasis on the importance of technology, the challenges faced, and recommendations for effective implementation.
